What Is the Best Time for a Newborn Photoshoot?
A newborn photoshoot is a beautiful way to preserve the earliest and most delicate days of your baby’s life. Each session is thoughtfully planned to capture your baby’s innocence through soft poses, creative styling, and timeless themes.
Ideal Time Window
The best time for a newborn photoshoot is when your baby is between 10 to 25 days old
During this phase, babies are naturally sleepy, calm, and comfortably curled, making it easier to create classic newborn poses
In certain cases, sessions can be extended up to 30–32 days, provided the baby weighs approximately 2.9 to 4 kg
Booking Advice (Important)
It is highly recommended to contact me as soon as your baby is born
All newborn sessions are pre-planned and booked in advance, with limited availability
If you reach out when your baby is already 20–30 days old, it may not always be possible to arrange a last-minute session due to a full schedule
Styling & Comfort
For this age group, a carefully curated collection of soft wraps, outfits, and accessories is used
All styling is chosen to ensure your baby feels comfortable, safe, and at ease, while looking absolutely adorable
Older Babies (1–3 Months)
If your baby is between 1 to 3 months old, the photoshoot style changes significantly, focusing more on expressions, eye contact, and natural interactions rather than sleepy poses.
Experience With Older Babies (40 Days to 3 Months)
While classic newborn photography is best suited for babies under 30 days, it is important to know that every baby and every situation is different. Over the years, I have worked with babies who were two months, two and a half months, and even close to three months old.
For older babies, the approach naturally changes. The poses and setups are not the same as those used for very young newborns. For example, traditional belly-down basket poses, deep curled positions, or sofa and bed poses are often not suitable or comfortable for bigger babies. However, this does not mean beautiful images are not possible.
With experience and careful handling, I work with alternative posing ideas and themes that suit an older baby’s body and comfort. This includes:
Safe and gentle wrapping techniques (even for older babies, where possible)
Using age-appropriate props and setups
Capturing beautiful details such as hands, feet, facial expressions, and tiny features
Creating emotional portraits with parents’ hands, cuddles, and close connections
Handling bigger babies requires advanced experience, patience, and specialised techniques, and it is not something every photographer may feel comfortable doing. With years of working closely with newborns and older babies, I adapt the session based on what is safe, comfortable, and achievable for your baby.
A Family-Focused Photography Style
Every newborn photoshoot also includes parent portraits. A significant part of the session is dedicated to capturing:
Baby with parents
Natural interactions and bonding moments
Emotional details showing closeness, warmth, and love
This family connection is an essential part of my photography style. I strongly believe that newborn images are not just about poses – they are about family warmth, emotional closeness, and timeless memories.
If your baby is older than the ideal newborn age, you are always welcome to discuss the possibilities. I genuinely enjoy exploring new ideas and creating meaningful images that suit your baby’s stage – while keeping comfort, safety, and emotions at the heart of every session.
Why My Newborn Photoshoots Are Planned for Up to Four Hours?
Newborn photography is never about speed-it is about patience, understanding, and creating the right environment for a baby to feel safe and calm. That is why my newborn photoshoot sessions are planned for up to four hours, which is considered a generous and rare time frame in the city.
This extended time is a conscious decision based on many years of experience working with Indian and international families. When photographing a newborn, everything depends on the baby’s comfort, sleep cycle, feeding needs, and mood. Babies cannot be rushed, and neither should their first photoshoot experience.
By keeping a four-hour window, it becomes possible to:
Calm and soothe the baby naturally
Take breaks for feeding, nappy changes, or cuddling
Work without pressure if the baby needs extra time
Create the soft, dreamy, and relaxed poses seen in the portfolio
This approach also helps new parents feel at ease and confident, knowing there is no rush and that everything planned can be achieved in a peaceful atmosphere.
What Is Included in the Newborn Photoshoot Experience?
Each newborn session is thoughtfully planned to capture both baby-only portraits and family connections, ensuring a complete and meaningful experience.

Two Newborn Baby Photoshoot Packages Based on Baby’s Age
To ensure that parents can capture this precious phase at the right time – and also do not miss the opportunity if they book late – I offer two carefully designed newborn baby photoshoot packages. Each package is planned according to the baby’s age, comfort, and developmental stage, while maintaining the same calm, safe, and creative approach.
Ideal Newborn Photoshoot
(Baby Age: 10 to 40 Days)
Cost: €295
This is the recommended newborn photoshoot package and the most suitable time to achieve the classic newborn poses you see throughout my portfolio.
At this age, babies:
Sleep deeply and for longer periods
Are naturally flexible
Settle comfortably into wraps, baskets, and themed setups
What’s Included
All newborn outfits, designer gowns, wraps, and themes are provided by the studio
A beautiful selection of soft, multicolour wraps, chosen according to the baby’s gender and selected themes
Creative newborn posing using:
Wraps and outfits
Baskets, bean beds, and safe props
Theme-based setups
Close-up baby details such as hands, feet, facial expressions, and tiny features
Emotional baby portraits with parents
A relaxed session planned for up to 4 hours, including time for feeding, soothing, and breaks
👉 Parents do not need to bring any baby clothes or outfits. Everything required for the photoshoot is provided.
Parents are only requested to carry the baby’s regular travel bag, which they normally use when stepping out with the baby.
This package allows the widest range of classic newborn poses and dreamy themes.
Newborn-Style Baby Photoshoot
(Baby Age: 45 to 70 Days)
Cost: €360
This special package is designed for parents who book late or discover newborn photography after the first month. Even if the ideal newborn window has passed, it is still possible to create beautiful and meaningful newborn-style memories – with a different and more adaptive approach.
At this stage, babies:
Are more alert and active
Sleep lightly and wake frequently
Move their head and body continuously
Have their own routine and stronger preferences
Because of this, working with older babies requires additional time, patience, experience, and advanced handling techniques.
What’s Included
Baby wrapping using age-appropriate wraps
Detailed shots of baby hands, feet, and facial features
Beautiful baby portraits with parents
Baby posing in safe baskets and setups, adapted to comfort
Creative use of toys and props, as seen in my portfolio
Extra time for soothing, calming, and working around the baby’s rhythm
While the poses and themes are different from those of very young newborns, the focus remains on comfort, safety, and emotional storytelling.
👉 Due to the additional effort, skill, and time involved, this package has a slightly higher cost, which reflects the realistic challenges of working with older babies.
Newborn Photoshoot With Siblings, Grandparents & Extended Family
Newborn photoshoots are primarily designed for the newborn baby and parents. If your baby has an elder sibling, or if you wish to include grandparents or close family members, this can certainly be arranged – with separate planning and additional time.
Including siblings or extended family changes the structure of the session and therefore cannot be accommodated within the standard newborn package.
Additional Time & Cost
Sibling photoshoot (newborn with sibling): +30 minutes
Grandparents or extended family photoshoot: +30 minutes per group
Additional cost: €35 per 30-minute extension
Important Workflow to Note
All sibling and extended family portraits are completed at the very beginning of the session.
Once these photos are finished, all additional participants are required to leave the studio.
This step is essential and non-negotiable, as the main newborn photoshoot can only be carried out in a quiet, calm, and distraction-free environment. Working with a newborn requires full concentration, minimal movement, and a peaceful atmosphere to ensure the baby’s comfort, safety, and beautiful results.
After extended family members leave, the session continues smoothly with the main newborn baby photoshoot, which is the core focus of the booking.
With clear planning and understanding, sibling and family portraits can be beautifully included – while preserving the calm and relaxed setting that newborn photography truly requires.
A Gentle Reminder for Parents
Both packages are created with care, flexibility, and understanding, so whether you book early or reach out later, your baby’s memories can still be captured beautifully. The goal is always to offer a calm, friendly, and professional experience, ensuring parents leave the studio with peace of mind, happiness, and timeless memories.
If you are unsure which package suits your baby’s age, you are always welcome to discuss it before booking.
Important Studio Guidelines for Newborn Sessions
For newborn photoshoots, I kindly request that only the baby, mama, and papa are present in the studio.
Newborn photography requires full focus, a calm environment, and minimal distractions. Mama and papa take care of feeding and nappy changes, while all baby handling, soothing, wrapping, and posing are managed entirely by me.
Additional family members or friends are not required and may disturb the calm flow of the session. To ensure a smooth, peaceful, and successful photoshoot, no other participants are allowed in the studio during the newborn session.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
